new package video - it works now!

Sorry for the last post that didn't work! Here is the video. Uncle Steven came over last night to babysit and he kept Luca very busy playing in boxes and building forts. Everyone gets a good nights sleep after an energetic play session with Uncle Steven!

Luca Sings the ABC's

He misses a few letters but gets through the song. (Video gets boring after approx 1 min 45 sec so don't feel obligated to watch whole thing thru as though something will happen!)

Chillin with Elmo

click here to view pictures of Luca at the concert

Today we took Luca to Sesame Street Live Ready for Action show at Madison Square Garden. We bought the tickets on Ebay - knowing they were in a good location and VIP - but we didnt know we would be front row! It was pretty cool. When the characters came down off the stage during songs they walked right down stairs in front of us and shook Luca's hand or waved right at him. He was pretty mesmerized and overwhelmed (in a good way). Admittedly, it was a little hard for him to sit in his seat with the stage so close. If we didnt hold him tight he wouldve climbed right up the stairs onto the stage!

Visit to Grampy's

Grampy was in town for a few days this week and we drove over to his apartment on Wednesday for a visit. Luca had a blast playing on his piano.

Luca Monologue

Here is an amusing video of Luca we took this morning. We transcribed most of what he says. To us its pretty clear, but I think thats because we hear his chattering all the time!

go outside
rocky roo (the name of his horse)
little big horse

on top
on top of the world!
sit here
cars and buses

go to sleep

go to sleep
wake up! wake up! wake up!

here comes the bus! here comes the bus!
the bus makes noise

(which he knows since he smacked himself on the head with it by accident not too long ago)

the puppy's naked!
i'm sorry
puppy's naked! wear a sweatshirt?
put it on his toes

if i dont love it, i dont swallow
(this is referencing his favorite part of Ratatiouille where skinny food critic Anton Ego says "I dont like food, I love it! And if I dont love it, I dont swallow!")
fuzzy wuzzy!

wheels on the car

Florida Weekend

We had a very busy weekend in Florida for Grampy's 85th birthday. I attended a baby shower for my friend Delayne from Luca's florida playgroup, Luca had a brief playdate with his buddy Bryce, we played with cousin Andrew and visited with Tante Judi and Uncle Michael, Luca got a visit from his old nanny Donna and played with his girlfriends Lilly and Alyssa. Whew - all in 3 days! And that isnt even all we did... We didnt get too many pictures during the days - just a few hanging around Grandma & Grandpa's house

The big events of the weekend were the pre-party dinner at Grandpa Zoom's house and the GIANT 85th Birthday Bash with 457 of his closest friends and family. It was a Cirque du Soleil themed event and there were performers and decorations that were just fabulous! The food was excellent and the music fabulous - the dance floor was always packed - but that's not hard to do when you have nearly 500 guests! Luca looked adorable in his slacks and sweater vest and he enjoyed his debut during the cocktail hour before we brought him back to the house and the sitter put him to bed. The circus performers and magical displays during the hour he was there were just perfect for him! Strange that I don't have any pictures of Luca from the party - I remember someone taking pictures of us - I will have to hunt those down!

Visiting Grandma & Grandpa in Colorado

Click here to see our Colorado pictures!

We just got back from a very snowy week in Colorado where we had a fantastic time! We spent our days cozied up by the fire or out playing in the snow. The weather wasn't too harsh - in fact, the days were sunny and clear, and in the evenings it would snow several inches giving a fresh coat of powder for the coming day. I don't think I have seen such great snow in Colorado in years!

Uncle Steven joined us this trip, but Daddy couldn't make it since he had to work :(
Luca is flat out obsessed with his Uncle Steven and just at the mention of Steven's name Luca breaks into song, dance and hyperactivity. It is really special to see the connection the two of them share. (Also endearing to see Steven interact with someone who is at his level of maturity - hehe)

During this past week Luca's speech seemed to advance quite a bit and now he is speaking in little sentences - like:

airplane flying in the sky
mommy's cookin' in the kitchen
ridin' in my new car
take it off
don't like it (used to be "like it" when he didnt like something)
fill the cup with water
my hair is wet
riding the bus
there goes a taxi cab
dadda has a hat on
play with gears (thanks for the great toy Marilyn & Don!)

Also, the Mother Goose book we received from cousin Marcia is always in demand and he is reciting some of the verses:

cow jumped over the moon
peter piper picks peppers
rockabye baby treetops
row row boat on stream
in the cupboard for a bone
